Train the Horse and the Relationship

JW Horsemanship creates an environment where horses and people meet each other where they are. As you work with us to flourish as a Horseman/Horsewoman, you will recognize that a clear language is needed with the horse in order for horse and human to develop respect and trust in one another. This language and these skills may be entirely new to you, or they may be refining your training toolbox as you continue on your horsemanship journey.  Once our principles and techniques are learned and practiced, you will be on your way to nurturing a rich, satisfying relationship with any horse in your life.

    Training Services

    Board & Train At Our Facility: Lessons are included!

    Send your horse to us for training on a monthly basis. We can deliver on your training goals: Halter training youngsters, handling and ground training, teaching good equine citizen manners, saddle starting, re-training, conditioning, with a specialty in senior horse care and fitness.

    Included in our $1100 monthly fee: a private paddock with shelter, horse quality coastal hay, salt, and we will feed grain / supplements if you choose to provide them. This rate includes unlimited lessons for you with your horse, and the more often you can participate the more solid your results will be.
     
    Starting unstarted horses under saddle requires a 6 month commitment. 
     

    We can’t accept stallions in our board & train program at this time as we are not equipped to keep everyone safe (and free from accidental pregnancy!) Joe can and will train studs on your property or at a properly-equipped boarding facility.

     Your horse will be worked consistently and regularly, on a schedule that considers the horse’s development and readiness.
     
    Make an appointment to come see Joe while he works with horses, or haul in for an evaluation and discuss your goals.  For an onsite eval, you’ll need an appointment and current negative coggins.  

    Haul-in Training

    If you prefer to haul your horse(s) in to our facility in Brenham, we can train you and your horse together for $75 an hour.

    Mobile Training

    We can come to your place and train your horse(s) on an hourly basis, $75 per hour. This is available within ~45 minutes of Brenham, depending on the number of horses.  You’ll need to have a pen to work in, preferably round and sturdy, for mobile training to be effective.  We will travel further for barns with 3+ horses to be handled / trained.
